The celebration of Golden and Silver Jubilee of Religious Profession of Sisters of the Mangalore Province was celebrated on 24th January 2015 at Bethany Provincialate Vamanjoor, Mangalore.
Eight Golden and eight silver jubilarians of the Province who kept their flame of love burning of the consecrated life celebrated God’s faithfulness. The Eucharistic celebration was officiated at 10.00 am, by Rev Fr Pius James D Souza the Episcopal Vicar for Religious, Mangalore Diocese together with 6 other priests.
With lighted lamps the Jubilarians marched to the altar of God symbolizing their life spent in the service of God and humanity. In the homily Rev Fr Pius OCD centered his thoughts on God’s call and faithfulness, his continuous revelation through different eventualities and circumstances in our life.
Delightful felicitation programme was followed by the Thanksgiving Eucharist. Sr Mariette the Provincial Superior presided over the felicitation programme.
Sr Christella the asst Provincial superior welcomed with great pride the golden hues and the silver blooms. Individually the Jubilarians namely Sr Albertine BS, Sr Leo BS, Sr Diana Monteiro BS, Sr. Elnora BS, Sr Dencilla BS and Sr Regis BS were congratulated and greeted by enumerating their valuable services and magnificent contributions made to the Church and society in the past fifty golden years. Sr Joel and Sr Marie Ange were fondly remembered with gratitude in absencia.
The silver blooms Sr Celine Petra BS, Sr Diana Sequeira BS, Sr Nancy Rodrigues BS, Sr Prefilda BS, Sr Lilly D Souza BS and Sr Philomen Sequeira BS were greeted with great delight and joy. Sr Ignatia D’Souza BS and Sr Michelle BS were lovingly remembered in their absence. Sr Cicilia Mendonca conveyed the greetings of Sr Ignatia D’Souza BS who is serving in Mauritania and was unable to be present to the occasion. Sr Leera Maria BS and Sr Sagaya Selvi BS compeered the Jubilee felicitation programme. Grateful thanks to Sr Cicilia Mendonca BS the Provincial Councillor the convener of the Jubilee programme. Indeed it was a joyful celebration, beautiful and memorable. Long Live the silver and Golden Jubilarians. May their life of Consecration be a message to everyone.
