A Felicitation programme was arranged at the Province level on Sunday 13, March 2016, at Bethany Provincialate Vamanjoor to mark the event of felicitation to the newly elected General Councilor Rev. Sr Mariette BS of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangalore.
Sr Mariette BS served as the Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province from May 31st 2009 to 11th Feb 2016. During her tenure as the shepherd of the Province she left no stone unturned in making progress in all spheres. She animated the spiritual life of the Sisters and promoted apostolic service through her great caliber and dynamism. As a person deeply rooted in God, over whelmed in the love of the Blessed Mother, and with deep love for the Holy Founder, she served strenuously for the holiness of the sisters and built faith filled communities, and vibrated the mission with effective leadership.
Indeed it was a day of thanksgiving. Sisters of the Province were filled with gratitude and joy, expressed to the Provincial for the freedom and benevolence that they experienced in their life journey through the instrumentality of Sr Mariette.
Thanksgiving Eucharist was celebrated by Rev Fr Cyprian Pinto the Parish Priest of St Joseph the worker church, Vamanjoor and a meaningful homily was preached by Fr Joseph Lobo, the Director of St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor and words of felicitations from Rev. Fr Joseph Cardoza.
Sr Cicilia Mendonca BS welcomed the gathering, Sr Christella BS the Provincial Superior I/C greeted the Provincial with words of felicitation. Sr Lisa BS compeered the programme.
In response to the felicitations, Sr Mariette BS the General councilor expressed gratitude to every sister of the Province and thanked them profusely for journeying with her in fulfilling the mission entrusted to her by the Congregation.
Indeed it was a great day.
