“Re-commit yourselves to the Lord, He will help you to keep what you pronounce’’.
We the 12 blooming buds of Mangalore Province gathered at Bethany Provincialate Vamanjoor for three days of Recollection as a preparation to re-commit ourselves to the Lord from 31st March to April 2nd 2016. Sr Christella BS Provincial-in-charge, Sr Sharon BS our Junior Directress extended a warm welcome and made us feel at home Sr Christella BS in her introductory talk reminded us to love Jesus and seek Him in every moment. We are called to journey towards our master with total commitment.
It was a great privilege to listen to the talk by Sr Dona BS the Novice Directress on the topic “Our life of Consecration”. We reflected deeply and personally on our religious call to follow Jesus and to recapture the fascination and enchantment of belonging totally to Him, so that we become effective and powerful Consecrated women living our Charism in today’s challenging world. “Pope Francis says –To become a religious is not primary of our choice; it is our answer to a calling, of love.” At the same time Fr Baranbas OCD was an instrument from God who enlightened on “our life of prayer as a religious”. Renewal is a time to go back to our roots that is the day of our First Commitment. By his talk we were enlightened to know the demands of Religious life and our life of prayer. Sr Shalet D’Souza BS assistant Novice Directress spoke on the topic of Community Life. Blessed Mother Theresa says – “Prayer is the Thermometer of a good Community”. The presence of one another makes the community a happy home, yet we are all born broken. We grow by mending and the glue of forgiveness. Fr Founder says “never go for recreation with a sour face” with these whispering words we were enriched to live happily in our community.
Sr Sharon our junior directress helped us to deepen our relationship with Jesus by conducting various forms of meditation and prayer services.
Indeed it was a memorable and joyful day for all of us to come together, to learn together, to live together and to share together. Though our life is uncertain our God is certain to Him, our hearts whisper saying I am yours Lord forever… with deep joy and blessings we recommitted our lives to our Lord during Eucharistic Celebration. Our heartfelt thanks to Sr Mariette BS our Provincial Superior, for her prayerful support, love, care, concern and keen interest in our growth. We are grateful to Sr Christella I/C Provincial Superior for arranging the Renewal Programme and accepting our Vows. We remain grateful to Sr Sharon BS our Junior Directress for journeying with us very closely, for her constant support and encouragement in our growth. We sincerely thank Sr Roselyta BS and the Community Sisters for helping us in renewing our vows, for providing conducive atmosphere and for their prayerful support. May the Lord help us always to be committed and to remain faithful to our vows forever.
