Social-medical Ministry Meet was held on 25th July 2017 and was attended by 38 sisters. The Provincial Superior in her opening message quoted from the Gospel of St John 14:23 ‘Those who love me will keep my word and my Father will love them. The XVI general chapter thrust book of Jeremiah 1:7 ‘You shall go to all whom I send you” we are commissioned by the Lord to preach the good news through the social and healing ministries. We need to be empathetic as Jesus who reached out to the people with love. Thereafter, Mr Chittaranjan, the Community development expert from Mangalore City Corporation spoke about the various schemes that are available for the people specially for the migrants. For the benefit of the group he also mentioned and explained some of the schemes available for SC, ST, OBC and differently abled people.
After which the reports of Jeevandhara Social Service Trust and Centre, Concetta Hospital, Kinnigoli, Fr L.M. Pinto Hospital Badyar, Sanjiveeni center, Kinnigoli, Shubadha Trust Suralpady and from all the communities which are involved in Social apostolates were shared. It was followed by group session and drawing up the action plan for Socio medical Apostolaltes 2017-18. Sr Roshel the Assistant Provincial Superior in her concluding message insisted to depen our roots in prayer by being availabile to God and his people. Sr Vitalis thanked all the members for their active involvement throughout the meeting. At 4pm the day’s meeting was concluded by glorifying the Trinity.
