The newly constructed building of the ‘Bethany Convent School’ of the Sisters of the Little Flower (Bethany Sisters) of Mangalore Province was inaugurated in the Archdiocese of Gandhinagar, Gujarat on 01.10.2013.
Rev. Sr Wilberta BS the Superior General of Bethany Congregation inaugurated the new school building and His Grace Archbishop Stanislaus Fernandes of Gandhinagar Archdiocese blessed it. Sr Mariette BS the Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province unveiled the plaque. Rev Fr Isidore Almeida the Parish Priest of Limboi, Gujarat and many other eminent people graced the function. Good number of priests and sisters of the Archdiocese along with students, teachers, parents, and well-wishers were also present on this occasion.
This new school building is a befitting monument in honour of the Founder of Bethany, Mgr Raymond Francis Camillus Mascarenhas the Servant of God who always thought of empowering the poor through quality education. The beneficiaries of this school are from Dalit community, tribals, other backward communities and others, like, Rajputs, Patels, etc.
