It was a great rejoicing day on 3rd December 2014 all over Ajekar. A God-given time to reminiscence the sweet memories of the past, to magnify the Lord. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated at 4.00 pm by Rev. Fr John Alfred Barboza, Karkala Deanery with con-celebrants Rev. Fr Roshan OFM, and Episcopal Vicar for religious, Udupi Diocese, Rev. Fr Lawrence Martis, the Parish Priest and Rev. Fr Lancy Saldanha, the Principal of Church High School. In his homily Rev. Fr Lawrence Martis, pointed out the rich and fruitful and committed service of our Bethany Sisters in this remote area. Sisters work day in and day out for the upbringing of society as well as give their very self to the Parish and the Parishioners. On this great day he appreciated the hard labour of the Sisters, specially the superiors who took lead in this regard.
The Holy Eucharist was followed by a short felicitation programme. It was presided by Rev. Sr Mariette BS Provincial Superior, Mangalore Province, Rev. Sr Assumpta, the General Councillor, the guest of honour of the day. A few Parishioners and the celebrants of the Eucharist were present.
Rev. Sr Assumpta BS, the General Councillor, greeted and honoured all the past Parish Priests and the Episcopal vicar for religious with bouquet of flowers and a shawl, for their continual support to our Sisters. She also appreciated the Sisters for their committed mission.
Rev. Sr Mariette, Provincial Superior, the President highlighted the outstanding achievements and meritorious services rendered by the past and present Superiors and greeted them with flowers and a shawl. Congratulating the present Superior Sr M Sunil BS and the members namely Sr M Mazella BS, Sr M Reena BS, Sr M Sadhana BS, Sr M Jessy D Souza BS and Sr M Nisha BS she thanked their Golden services in this place e in the educational field and in the pastoral apostolate.
Mr Maurice Tauro, one of our Parishioners shared his experience working with the Sisters and their witnessing life. Vice President of the Parish Mr Antony Lobo thanked the Sisters for their participation in parish activities and promised his support to them.
