On 23rd January 2015 as we recall the 140th birth anniversary of the servant of God R.F.C Mascarenhas Bethany School, Puttur celebrated the Decennial. On 21st of January, Thanksgiving Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr Antony Prakash Monteiro the campus director of St Philomena’s, Puttur.
On 23rd at 9.30 a.m. Rev. Sr Sharon BS, the Provincial Councilor of Mangalore Province, inaugurated the open air stage. Rev. Fr Alfred Pinto, the Parish Priest of Mai De Deus Church blessed the stage. Mr Vinaya Bhandary the Councilor hoisted the school flag, after which Students were congratulated for their outstanding performance and prize distribution ceremony was conducted.
Decennial celebration & Annual Day Programme was held at 5.00 pm. The guests of day Rev. Sr Rose Celine BS, the Secretary of BES Mangalore; Ms. Shakunthala T Shetty, MLA, Puttur; Sri Shashidhar G S, Block Educational Officer, Puttur; Mr Mamachan M, President, Teachers’ Association Puttur.
The Correspondents, Headmistresses PTA Vice Presidents who served the institution for the past 10 years were felicitated. The 8 students who participated at state level competition were also congratulated and honored.
At the sweet memory of Decennial Year, the beautiful open air stage was constructed with the help of donors. Mr. Hamza K M, the contractor and Sr Lavita, the Headmistress were honored during the function. Throughout the year to mark the decennial 10 programmes for students, staff & parents were conducted. The school started with 75 students now it cradles 737 students. For every success and random growth of this institution the Correspondents, Headmistresses and Parents’ have worked hand in hand.
Today “Bethany at Puttur” is in the new discoveries and the exploration and almost at the verge of turning the iron into gold and ready to set the tone for the enrichment of life and prosperity and thus makes the students life a verdant pasture.
