The best and the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with heart- “ Helen Killer”. This is my experience when I went on a pilgrimage to Founder’s Cottage, Bendur on 8th October 2016. As the proverb “A good beginning makes a good ending”
we 67 catholic children of Bethany Hr Pry School Puttur along with our Headmistress Sr. Lavita Moras BS. Sr. Prabhath, Sr. Charles and Mrs. Anitha Reshma received the blessings of Mother Mary and Fr. Founder at the portals of Lisieux convent Puttur as we began the journey at 8.00 am to Bendoor.
The moment we stepped on the “ sacred ground”- Bethany, where our Fr. Founder- servant of God, lived and died, we were warmly welcomed, appreciated, loved and cared by Rev Sr. Rose Celine the President of BES , Sr. Lillis, Sr. Lilitta , Sr. Shanthi Priya the General councillors and Sr. Mariette the secretary of BES Mangalore. Just as the note of joy was struck in Bethany of Gospel fame, when Jesus used to visit them, so also each one of us experienced the warmth and loving presence of sisters.
Thereafter we went to view the Museum, when we sow the simple life style of RFC Mascarenhas, beautiful carving in the Bethany chapel. We took an hour to see the things and it was a thrilling experience to all of us. We spent time in dhyana and experienced the peace within us. After which we proceeded to Bikarnakatte Infant Jesus Shrine. We proceeded to Bajpe to the St. John Paul II - shrine.
After spending sometimes, we went to Permude for meal. We enjoyed delicious Non-Veg meal. We had the privilege to visit St. Antony’s Ashram. We spent time with the in maids. Our hearts moved with compassion like Fr.Founder. We found meaning to the two projects which we had done last month “Save money to send my friend to school”, and “Green your closet ”.We thank God for this beautiful day in our life where in we experienced Jesus through prayer and with the poor. I thank My Headmistress Sr. Lavita for arranging this pilgrimage and for giving us the spark of Love of Jesus.
