Joy to the World, the Savior is born!
We consider Christmas as the encounter, the great encounter, the historical encounter, the decisive encounter, between God and humankind. One who has faith knows this truly; let them rejoice. - Pope Paul VI
“Mary gave birth to her first born son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger” Lk2:7. The face of God has been revealed in a human face. It did not appear in an angel, but in one man, born in a specific time and place. The main lesson we find in this description is the lesson of humility. By His incarnation, the Son of God tells us that salvation comes through love, acceptance, respect for all human beings, which we all share in a great variety of races, languages, and cultures. May the Holy Child, the King of peace, silence the clash of arms and allow a new dawn of fraternity to rise over the entire world, blessing the efforts of all those who work to promote paths of reconciliation in religious, political and social life.
In Obedience to God’s will Jesus embraces Humanity. By willing to be born in the manger with obscure surroundings, assisted by the shepherds he embraces poverty. The humility of Mary, ‘the humble Handmaid’ drew down to this earth the Son of the Most High God. Jesus birth brings hope in the hopeless situation stands as a brightly shining star. Let’s once again ponder deeply the mysteries of Incarnation and Annunciation. Let this Christmas enable us to grow, flower and bear fruit for the Kingdom by our compassionate love for one another in the community and for the poor by following the mandate of ourrevered Founder RFC Mascarenhas.
I wish all of you dear sisters a joyousChristmas and a Spirit filled New Year 2020!
