The Founder of Bethany Congregation Rev. Fr R.F.C Mascarenhas  established the Infant Mary’s Hostel in Kulshekar on 08.05.1943 for the children who are economically backward and orphans.  According to the vision of Fr Founder Infant Mary’s Hostel provides home for the students specially girls from various parts of Karnataka. The purpose of its establishment is to help them in their education and all round development. Hostel is aided by the government and gives admission for girls from first to tenth standard.
 
The service to the poor and marginalised at Infant Mary’s Orphanage was joyously rendered by the wardens Sr Verena, Sr Alberta, Sr Philomille, Sr Monina, Sr Poma, Sr Esperie, Sr Medela, Sr Missericorse, Sr Maude, Sr Beatrice, Sr Doris, Sr Theodora, Sr Edward, Sr Joanina, Sr Edmond, Sr Vithalia and Sr Jessie Preema

At present Sr Jessy preema with the help of Sr Stephanie and Sr Rita Felcy toils hard for the well being of the students. And the hostilities are given needed help specially supervised study, library facilities, spiritual animation, counselling facilities financial help and many activities are conducted during the year. These activities help them service minded, morally strong and to be good citizens.
 
We have 77 students. High School students are 51 and they study in Sacred Heart’s High School, Kulshekar. Primary students are 26 and they attend St Sebastian Hr.Pry. School, Bendur. Majority  of them come from Bidar, Raichur, Gulbarga, Bagalkot, Mysore, Hassan, Chikmangalore, Kasargod, Gadag and Dakshina Kannada district. Some of them have single parents, a few students are orphans. Majority of the parents are illiterate.
