Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangalore Province through Jeevandhara Social Service Trust contributed towards the food items for 100 families in Jyothi Naga slum, Kavoor. Each kit was consisted of 5 kg Rice, I kg Tuar Dal, I Ltr Cooking Oil, Ikg Wheat Floor, I packet Tea Powder, I packet Salt, 1 packet Chilli powder and I kg Sugar. 
 
 
Sr Anna Maria took initiative to contact the youth of the area lead by Mr Mallanna. Other three youth joined to get the things from Mangalore Port area. The youth themselves segregated the items and made kits easy for the distribution.  Sr Jaya BS the local BLA (Bethany Lay Association) animator along with Mrs Bharathi, Jeevandhara Trust staff was present to distribute the food items to the people. It was done from 9.30 am to 11.00am in the morning. The people of the area kept the distance and followed the rules of covering their faces with masks. The BLA members from Kulshekar and Vamanjoor and few more benefactors supported the sisters to carry out this service to the people. 
 
 
 
It was noted that the people in this area, many of them lack ration cards and could not claim any benefit from the Government. Majority of the population consist of migrant workers and daily wage earners. They are migrated from Northern Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Half of the population is staying in the rented houses. The slum has more than 5000 population. These people are badly affected with the COVID 19 Pandemic lockdown of the country.
