On 24th December under the guidance of Sr Lavita the Headmistress along with Sr Shubha the Correspondent, a short Christmas programme was arranged in the Beggar’s Rehabilitation Centre at Pachanadi, Vamanjoor, Mangalore. 186 inmates were found in the centre. These are from different states. There was lot of pain on their faces, the children exhibited wonderful Christmas programme, at the moment their faces were glowing with happiness. At the end many of them are joined our students to dance and express their joy. We also offered them refreshment. Sr Shubha delivered Christmas message. Sr Lavita thanked the Manager of the centre for giving the opportunity to celebrate the Christmas with them. Mr Ashok the Manager of the centre thanked the students and the management for the thoughtfulness and also enlightened the students not to entertain the beggars on the street because it is prohibited by the Government.
While tracing our steps backward to our school, we realize how blessed we are. We also realized our responsibility to serve the deprived and less fortunate. This visit thought us the true essence of caring and sharing.
