As the Church celebrated the feast of St Martha on 29th July, 2015, the Sisters of Rosa Mystica Convent, Kinnikambla, celebrated  ‘Bethany Lay Association Day’ along with Tertians, Novices, Hostel Children and the family members of the BLA members. The Eucharistic celebration was officiated by Rev Fr Joseph Cardoza, the campus counselor of St Joseph’s Engineering College, Vamanjoor.  Mrs Hilda Menezes, Rita Fernandes and Mr Alfred Perris, made their first commitment.  Sr Juliana the superior of the community received their vows and handed over the badges to them.

The short cultural programme was conducted by the BLA members in the Community hall. They inspired the gathering through a skit, ‘how to recognize Jesus who comes to us in disguise.’ Community Sisters and Novices greeted the BLA members with a melodious song.  Fr Joseph asked the gathering to ‘value life in its fullness’ like Martha who said, “Lord if you were here my brother would not have died”. Sr Juliana Monis  called upon the members to choose the combined role of Mary and Martha  by sitting at the feet of Jesus and by serving Him in the poor.  Sr Cecilia D’Souza  - the local animator, Sr Shalet D’Souza – the assistant animator organized the entire celebration with the cooperation of the Sisters and Novices.

The programme came to an end with a fellowship meal.
