June 26, 2021: The Inauguration of 5th Centenary house of Bethany Sisters of Mangalore Province took place at St Lawrence Ward, Mandrige, Joklabettu of Nakre Parish at Karkala Taluk, Udupi District. The house was built for Mrs Severine Monis, Mrs Leena her Sister and Steevan her son. Rev Fr Arthur Pereira, the parish priest of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Nakre blessed the House at 10.00am. Sr Cicilia Mendonca BS the Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany Proclaimed the Word of God and Sr Anna Maria the Councillor prayed the prayers of the faithful. After the prayers Mr George Castelino one of the parishioners and well wisher appreciated the cooperation and guidance of the Parish Priest, Bethany Sisters and the Parishioners in assisting to build the house. Sr Cicilia Mendonca BS acknowledged the support of donors and well wishers through whose help the building of the house was possible. She applauded Mr Lozil Mendonca for identifying the beneficiary.















Mr Sunil Mendes, the Contractor and Mr Nithin Shetty, the Engineer were honoured by the Parish Priest and the Provincial Superior. The Coconut sapling was planted by Mr Sunil Mendes the contactor to mark this occasion. Mr Antony DSouza the Ex Panchayath President and Ex APMC President, Karkala and local Political leader was a great support to this cause. He also distributed sweets on the occasion. Mr Augustine Dsouza worked towards property records clearance. Mr George Dsouza, the Coordinator for Parish commissions, Mr Ligoury Mendonca the Ex Vice President of the Parish, Mr Raphael Dsouza the Ward Leader, Sr Juliana, the Superior of Immaculate Heart of Mary Convent, Nakre, Mr Lawrence Dsouza, Mrs Patricia Mendonca and few of the neighbours were present on the occasion. At the end of the programme the family members thanked the Parish Priest, Parishioners and Bethany Sisters for helping out in their need. The Inauguration programme was winded at 11.00am.
