On 1 November 2021, the Arts and literary Association of St. Raymond’s P U College, Vamanjoor celebrated “Kannada Habba” on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava.

The day was a memorable one as they had Rev. Sr. Gracy Monica BS , local Manager ; Rev. Sr. Vidya BS, Headmistress, St Raymond’s Kannada Medium High school; Mr. Madhukar Bhagwat, Retd. AIR FORCE OFFICER; Mrs. Shyamala , Retd. Teacher and feature writer; Rev. Sr Lavita BS, Headmistress, St. Raymond’s English Medium Higher Primary School; Rev. Sr. Anita Lydia , Principal, St. Raymond's P.U College as dignitaries for the day.

The day began by invoking the blessings of the almighty, followed by the lightning of the diya by the dignitaries on the dais. The students paid their tribute to various Kannada writers by reminiscing their contribution to the field of Kannada literature on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava.

The auspicious day included many colorful events like the inauguration of quotes which was done by Rev. Sr. Vidya BS, who later addressed the students about the significance of colours in our Karnataka flag and the importance of Kannada language.

Another event that marked the occasion was the unveiling of “Akshara Deepa” by the president of the programme Rev. Sr. Gracy Monica BS, who added an extra feather to the cap by signing on the inscription.

The moment was a cherishable one, as the second edition of Aralu was released during the occasion by Rev. Sr. Lavita B.S.

The day was a witness to St. Raymond’s Rajyotsava Award. Mrs. Shyamala, Retd. Teacher and writer was honored for her contribution in shaping the lives of many students. Ms. Shifali, the first runner- up of Dance Karnataka Dance competition, a gymnastic dancer was honored for her victory.

The prize distribution ceremony of various events was held during the occasion.

Sri. Madhukar Bhagavath addressed the gathering and spoke on the importance of education in the present day scenario.

The presidential address was delivered by Rev. Sr. Gracy Monica who encouraged students to uphold Kannada language.

During the programme, Mr. Vadiraja Kallurayya was felicitated for being selected for the Bendre Award.

Ms. Thamseen Begum was the MC for the day. Ms. Anushree proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was a successful one under the initiative of Mr. Vadiraj, Lecturer in Kannada under the guidance of Principal Sr. Anita Lydia BS.
